Where to Shop?

King Street//Downtown Charleston
Treat yo’ self to King Street. I’m telling you, King Street is such a fun experience for the raging shopaholic in all of us. It’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon and clear your mind and wallet. Marion Square is a perfect starting point. During the summer and weekends, you’ll often find yourself in the midst of festivals or local events such as the Farmer’s Market, Piccolo Spoleto, outdoor movies in the spring, or the Southeastern Wildlife Expo. Once you’re strolling, you’re in a melting pot mix of local boutiques, chain and higher-end designer retailers, coffee shops, art galleries, specialty antique stores, and restaurants. Every 2nd Sunday of the month, King Street (south of Calhoun Street) is closed for pedestrians to roam freely. Many of the restaurants will provide outdoor seating and stores will have display tables of new arrivals or current deals! It’s super fun and has become quite the social gathering! Brunch + shopping = happy folks (it’s a foolproof formula!) While you’re on your King Street stroll, hang a left at Market Street and keep straight to check out the Historic Charleston City Market. Rich in history as one of the nation’s first public city markets, there are over 300 vendors that occupy the marketplace, and in my opinion, it’s the best place to get an authentic Charleston souvenir!
