Happy blogiversary to me!!! Friday marked the one year anniversary that I launched Styled Sugarplum!! Yay!!! Over the past few months, I shifted my focus on the blog from strictly fashion and beauty to more of a lifestyle blog, including food tips with my plant-based journey and sharing tidbits of my life. I want to continue with this because Styled Sugarplum has evolved just as I have in my personal life. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for riding along on this blogging journey with me and I can’t wait to see where it take us over the next year! I’m so grateful for all the wonderful blogger friends and people I’ve met along the way and the opportunities that have knocked at my door. Blogging has really opened a world that I never knew existed and it gives me so much joy. It’s a great outlet for me, which is why I want to continue to share more of my life as I grow with it.  To celebrate my one year blogiversary, I thought I would tell you a little more about ME with ten random facts! One of my goals for the next year of blogging is to let down my walls a bit more and share more of what makes me, well… me! I also hope to get to know you more over the course of the next year!

Here goes nothin’ ⬇️

1️⃣My world revolves around my hubs and babylove. I don’t talk about them much on my here, but I would be lost without them. My hubby (Brandon) and I have been together for 14 years and will celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary in June. Our son Lawson was born in 2013 and completes us!
2️⃣ I danced ballet for over 20 years of my life. My favorite role was the Sugarplum Fairy in The Nutcracker- this was the inspiration for my blog name. My mom purchased my custom made tutu as a gift to me so I’d always have it. (If I could only fit in it now!!! #dreamworld Haha!) I taught dance for 7 years after I stopped dancing and loved every minute of it. I miss it and it’s definitely something I want to get back into soon. At the moment, I’m back in school to get my teaching degree. I’m thinking of specializing in speech pathology, although I’m not 100% on it yet! I love working with children, so teaching is definitely where my heart is!
3️⃣I love rap and hip hop music- it all started with discovering the Life After Death album from Biggie in the 7th grade. People are always so surprised by this because I’m a little prim and proper[ish] southern mama, but I LOVE it. I’m not too crazy about some of the current stuff, but late 90s to 2010ish was the jam. I still know every word to basically anything and everything during that time frame.
4️⃣I’m an organizational junkie to a fault and will spend forever getting something juuuuust right. I love to help friends and family organize their homes, closets, you name it. I thought about creating a side business (which I may still do) because I enjoy it so much.
5️⃣I didn’t enjoy cooking until about 4 months ago and now I’m a self proclaimed master chef. Well, idk about master chef status, but watching all those cooking shows sure is paying off! 👩‍🍳Watch out Gordon Ramsey! I’m still working on my kitchen creativity, but it’s definitely come a long way!
6️⃣ If I could live off eating only cheese, I would. 🐭🧀 That’s one thing I miss dearly from living a plant-based life. During cheat days- it’s ON. Cheese dip at the Mexican restaurant doesn’t stand a chance. (Neither do the margaritas!)
7️⃣I have flown a plane. I took flying lessons after my high school graduation. Coolest gift ever. Like EVER. I’m fearless when it comes to heights and on that note: I’m a total roller coaster junkie. I will seriously ride any kind of roller coaster out there. ANYTHING. I did bungee jump once, but I haven’t gone skydiving. My hubby is the complete opposite- total fear of heights. We always go to theme parks in a group because he won’t ride them. We are thinking of doing a kid-free trip to Universal for our 5 year anniversary and he will have to ride with me. Maybe he’ll overcome his fear this year?

8️⃣ I lived in Charleston, SC for nine years and that chapter is a huge part of my life. We recently relocated back to our hometown (about two hours away from Chas) because my hubby got a new job. Charleston holds so many dear memories to me. I got married there and had my son. I transitioned from my 20s to my 30s there and really found myself. I have some amazing friends there that I miss every single day and I loved the city as if it were a person. Charleston will always have a chunk of my heart and I can’t wait to visit again soon!

9️⃣ I am deathly afraid of spiders. Everyone knows this about me because I will FREAK if I see one. If it’s larger than a quarter, you can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll probably cry. I’m not kidding. I hate them. I once had a jumping spider in my car and I jumped out at a stoplight at one of the busiest intersections in Charleston. 🙈 Homie don’t play dat! It was beyond traumatic for me when the light turned green and I had to get back in and drive knowing IT was in there. Obviously I survived to tell the tale.
🔟 It took me 6 months to grow a pair and actually launch Styled Sugarplum and I’m so glad I did because it has been such a wonderful experience! Thank you again for following along and I look forward to many more years of blogging bliss!!

Have a great week and stay styled, sugarplum!!
