Hey y’all! I hope you have had a fantastic week so far! I thought I would do a little catch up sesh on my life lately, since it has been about 3 weeks since I’ve blogged. UGH I SUCK! Hopefully you’ve been keeping up with me on Instagram because I post on there almost everyday! My username on there is @styledsugarplum!  We have been super busy over here and this week especially, since I’ve been on a break from school. I’ve had some time to spend quality time with friends, family, and tie up some house projects. My hubby and I also had a MUCH needed date night. I feel like we take the time to go out to eat as a family quite often because we usually have a nice lunch out every Sunday after church, but we deff need to make more of an effort for dates on the reg. Here’s our ghetto car selfie from date night last Saturday because that was really the best we could do at the time …haha! We kinda suck at taking pictures together because I’m usually the one always behind the lens…regardless, isn’t he just the cutest?

We are coming up on our FIVE year wedding anniversary next month and I am so excited. We’re trying to figure out what to do!?! At first we were thinking NYC, then we thought maybe Universal Studios in Florida (the Harry Potter nerd in me NEEDS to visit The Wizarding World of HP), then we even thought “YOLO, lets go it Italy”… we just can’t make up our minds!?! Any fun destinations you’ve traveled that would be good for couples sans kids?

This week I’ve also been stepping up my fitness game. Since we moved, I have continued to workout, but not as regularly as I’d like. My knees are shotty, but this week I FINALLY feel back on track and I’ve been interval running and pumping out workout videos like it’s my job. I absolutely love walking/jogging outdoors. There is just something so magical about the fresh air and sun. It’s good for the soul! I also love working out to DVDs for sculpting and ab work along with cardio from running outside. Anyone use workout DVDs? What are some of your faves? I enjoy PiYo, the set from the 21 Day Fix, and Turbo Jam (that’s old school but I love it.) The Turbo Sculpt and Ab Jam from that set are my absolute favorites! If you have any suggestions on videos you enjoy, please send them my way! We have a smart TV, so if there are any available on YouTube or wherever- let me know! I’d love to hear your recommendations!

Now that I’ve caught you up on some life happenings, today I want to share a look with you that I am SO excited to rock in a few weeks when I go visit a few of my besties in Charleston in two weeks. I can’t wait to get back to that salt air and see two of my favorite friends in the world. I will be documenting that weekend and I’ll share with you because we are heading to a few new places that I have never been! Back to the look, it’ll be perfect for a day to night transition because all you need to do is switch your shoes to wedges or a block heel sandal! Such an effortless transition!

So first things first, I have been on the hunt FOREVER for the perfect raw hem white denim shorts. You’d think it would be easy….pshhh white shorts in the summer. BUT NOPE. After searching for about a month, I have finally zeroed in on some that meet all the criteria: stretchy denim, not too long/ not too short, and budget friendly. They’re the STS BLUE Raw Hem Denim shorts from Nordstrom. All hail Nordstrom. I wanted to share them with you because they also come in a few other shades of denim…so if you’re also on the hunt for a great pair of denim shorts of any color, I highly recommend this brand. I’m picky about my shorts because 1) I’m 32 and don’t need my ass hanging out, 2) they gotta be stretchy and move with me aka no muffin top, and 3) must be an affordable price point (these are $39 and it’s free shipping.) They also run true to size. Check them out below!

Okay, next is this AH-DORABLE floral ruffle one shoulder top. It’s called the Annka One Shoulder Ruffle Tank from Free People and it comes in an ivory and black also. The one I bought is the peach and I just love the bright colors on the floral ruffle. I saw this on a fashion blogger I follow on Insta and knew I had to have it. You ever just fall in love with a piece and know it’s meant to be?? (Oh myyyy, spoken like a true shopaholic.) For size reference, I purchased the small (so pretty TTS.) Shop below!

Now we have my next favorite item in this flatlay…the Mia Woven Raffia Clutch from Mar Y Sol . This one also comes in a few colors: aqua, natural, navy and pink (the one I have.) It’s a small clutch, so don’t expect to fit much more than your cards, phone and lipstick. It is SUPER cute though, under $50, and I really like the mini-bag size, which is totally on-trend. To give you an idea, it’s about the size of a standard greeting card. Shop below!

I’ve bundled the last few items together for my accessories. My sunnies are from Velvet Eyewear and they’re the Khloe style. I’m obsessed with the round lens trend, so I knew these would be a perfect neutral accessory to rock all summer. Check out their website for more goodies. My earrings are from Target and I couldn’t find the exact pair to link for you, but I’ve linked a few other mint pieces below. I chose the mint color for my earrings because I wanted to pull some of the green from the floral ruffle in my top, but also keep it light enough that they would show up in my sea of long hair. (Which is long overdue for a trim, but I’m gonna call it my “summer mermaid hair” although we know it best as lazy girl hair.) Anyway, my sandals are the perfect splash of metallic and I love the simple two strap style. They’re from Old Navy and right now if you use your Old Navy card and the code THANKYOU, you can receive an extra 40% off. Oh gosh, don’t hate me but I just discovered that the metallic gold ones like mine are sold out. This style is still available in a few other colors online though. The gold may be available in stores, so if you really want them, check your local Old Navy. I’ll be on the lookout for some similar styles- so if you’re interested, email me! Shop the rest of my accessories below!

I hope you enjoyed deets on my new favorite outfit. I’ll be back this weekend with another plant-based diet update. It’s been a while, so I want to bring you up to speed and share a salad recipe that has been in constant rotation! Have a great rest of your week!

Hey y’all! Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going well! I wanted to focus this week’s Fab Five on the HUGE Shopbop sale that’s happening right now! All of my picks are under $100, including the Fab Five this week. This is a fantastic time to pick up some designer duds on the DL. Down low PRICE, that is. Shopbop only has these sales a few times a year, and this one only lasts for three days. You can use the code *ENJOY17* to receive 20% off purchases under $500 and 25% off all purchases over $500! This offer ends April 14 at midnight AND the best part is that it includes sale items! WHAT WHAT…so get your shop on! Behold five of my favorites…gonna be honest, it was hard to narrow it down to just five. (And also…I may or may not be hoarding items in my online shopping cart.) Also, below my Fab Five picks,, you’ll find my complete Shopbop Sale SHOP! Say THAT five times fast!

First, HOW CUTE is this adorable Lioness Del Rio romper ?!? I love the off-the-shoulder neckline and the fun bell sleeves. This is definitely an effortless piece that you can wear with sandals OR dressed up with heels. It is an absolute steal for only $60 with the discount!

Next, I love this darling Moon River cold-shoulder dress. The lace details take this little white dress to the next level, and I love the cold shoulder and drop waist design. It is lined, which to me is a total WIN. The last thing you want is for everyone to see your goodies! Keepin it real! This dress is only $64 with the discount!

I’m obsessed with these Geo Metal Statement Earrings from Madewell. They are the perfect solid gold statement earring, and at 2.5″ long, they’re the perfect size, too. They’re also only $25.60 with the discount!

Next up, is the most AHHH-DORABLE sandal of all time. Really, though. The Dolce Vita Pedra Sandals have the absolute cutest details with the zig-zag design mixed with cheetah print. Add the lace-up detail around your ankle, and there you have it ladies and gentleman. The cutest sandal of all time. These are the priciest item on the list. They are right at $100 with the discount, BUT so worth it. Your feet deserve a little party every now and then! Treat yo’ feet!

Last but not least, are the Blank Denim Coated Skinny Jeans. The rosy color is right on trend with the blush crush, and the distressed knees only add to the style factor. I love that they cut right above the ankle because these would be perfect to show off a really cute sandal or heel. It’s also a stretch fabric, so I’m sure they’re super comfortable. They come in right at $70 with the discount and sizes are selling quickly!

That’s a wrap for the Fab Five this week, but below is my complete Shopbop Sale Shop. I hope you find some goodies! I certainly have found TOO many! Here’s a tip: If you find something you like, go ahead and put it in your shopping cart. Shopbop will reserve it for 30 minutes while you shop and decide. This sale is BIG and sizes/styles are selling out like crazy! Good luck and may the shopping odds be ever in your favor! Stay styled, sugarplum!

Hey y’all! I hope you’re having a great week and HAPPY APRIL!!! This week for my Fab Five, I’m featuring an outfit that would be a versatile day to night look! Click the highlighted links or the pictures below each caption to shop!

Let’s start with the Crop Culotte Jumpsuit from Hollister. The sweetheart neckline and fitted bodice create a sleek sillouette against the wide leg cropped culottes. The straps are also adjustable, and the smocked stretchy backing makes an easy and comfortable piece. It’s a perfect option for the office with a cardigan or blazer and pumps, and then for night, amp up your accessories and ditch the layers! BOOM- happy hour ready! It’s right under $50, and also comes in a really cute denim light blue and white stripe!

Next, let’s talk about the Garbriela Fringe Drops from Baublebar. If you haven’t noticed, I’m a sucker for statement earrings. I have acquired quite a selection over time, and I just ordered these in yellow. I styled this look with the turquoise ones, and absolutely LOVE the fun layers of fringe. They are also available in coral, hot pink, and red. They’re $38 and add a whimsy, bold pop of color to an ensemble.

Up next is this fabulous floral stud crossbody bag from Topshop. Embroidery has been an ongoing trend since last summer, and it is here to stay. This bag is so pretty with the turquoise, red, and blush flower pattern, and yet has a bit of an edge with the studded detail. It also comes in this beautiful white floral pattern that absolutely screams spring! (I linked both below!) They’re both $48 each.

The Baublebar Stud Cuff is next up and I love the girly minimalist simplicity of this cuff. It’s a strong piece, and yet the pearls soften the look. This is a statement piece that you could throw on with just about anything and would even be cute with a casual tee, jean cutoffs, and espadrilles. It retails for $32.

Lastly, are the Isabel Wraparound Sandals from Steve Madden. These are the ultimate comfy heels for summer. The block heel is supportive, and the lace-ups create visual detail at your feet. A lace-up shoe is perfect for this look because the beautiful wrap-around straps can be fully showcased with the crop culotte hem. I also linked a taller heel AND an espadrille version (MY FAVE) all under $50!

Hope you enjoyed this edition of Fab Five under $50, and I’ll be back later this week with details on a few of my favorite hair and skin products. Also, I just received my first FabFitFun box, and will give my FULL REVIEW on that *hopefully* next week! Have a great week!

Hey y’all! Hope you’re having a lovely week so far! I seriously can’t believe that this is the last week of March!?! Where did this month go? Even though it flew by, I’m really glad that Mother Nature is finally playing nice and temperatures are warming up! This time of year, I usually make the transition in my closet from winter to spring. With that being said, this is also the time of year that I stock up on a few new things for rotation! Retailers are busting at the seams with spring merchandise! By the way, if you’re looking to shop around for some Spring wardrobe essentials, make sure to check out the SPRING tab on my main menu! In this drop down menu, there are four categories of Spring goodies that are on-trend right now, yet versatile enough to take you well into the summer months! I’ve separated items into Dresses, Accessories, Tops & Bottoms, and Beach/Pool. Definitely make sure to check it out for some fresh swag! This post is about a few things that I’ve been crushing on that I recently ordered! I always try to be budget-friendly with my purchases and everything posted here is under $50!

So, let’s start with this bag. I was eyeing the Rebecca Minkoff Vanity Saddle Bag ,since it was on sale from $325 to $210. I’ve been searching for a while now for a grey bag to add to my accessory essentials. I didn’t really want to drop $200 on a bag, so I tried to find a bag that resembled the shape and size of it, without pissing off my husband the price tag. I found this BP Foldover Crossbody at Nordstrom, and fell in love. It’s the perfect size (13″x9″) and I love the grey color with the tassel detail. Plus, it’s only $39! It also comes in cognac and black, so all your neutrals are covered. This bag will definitely be on repeat, and the grey will be a useful, universal summer bag color! It’s linked below and I also linked the splurge bag, too…cause it is a suchhhh a good deal and who doesn’t love Rebecca Minkoff.

Next, how cute is this one shoulder striped top?!?!? This top is also from BP at Nordstrom. If you haven’t noticed, BP is one of my favorite budget-friendly brands out there. AND Nordstrom ships for free and has the best return policy ever, so that’s always so nice, too! They make it easy for me to be a shopaholic…too easy. HA! Okay, so ruffles and shoulder details are ON FIRE this season. I just love how Spring brings out such feminine styles and I can’t get enough of this one! I’ll be wearing this top with white denim, or jean cutoffs. It’s an easy one to transition from day to night, also. It would be adorable even tucked in with a skirt for a dressier look! Best part is, it’s only $35. Sizes are selling out really fast though, so make sure to grab yours while you still can!

While we’re on the topic of tops, hehe, this red off-the-shoulder top is also from BP at Nordstrom. It gets so so so hot here in South Carolina, that walking around naked a flowy, lightweight top is absolutely mandatory from here on out. This top is super cute and flirty, and much like the characteristics of the one I mentioned above, it is extremely versatile for day and night looks. It’s available in four colors: red, black, white, and black floral. It also has a really playful strappy criss cross in the back, which adds a really fun detail!

Next, are the “IT” earrings of the season: the Crispin Drops from Baublebar.  They are a perfect statement earring to add some fun flare to your looks. I love the threaded detail and they are the perfect size.  I’ve been trying to get my hands one the white ones for a while now, and as soon as they were back in stock, I ordered. I’m sad to report though, that they are already out of stock (again!) BUT, they are available in about 100 other colors and patterns, so make sure to check them out! I’ve linked a few of the available styles below and if you click on them, it will bring up the main page with the variety of available colors!

Lastly, are these fun, embellished Kay Slide Sandals from Target. I was back on forth on this style and then the Abby Sandal from (none other than) BP at Nordstrom. I finally decided on the ones from Target, because I liked the extra splash of color. This is a sandal that you can throw on with basics to complete your look and add some vibrant texture with a boho, cool vibe. I linked both below!

I definitely can’t wait to get these babies in and style them! I’ll be anxiously refreshing my UPS tracking until they’re here! (spoken like a true shopaholic!) Don’t forget to check out my SPRING SHOP drop down menu for other fun Spring picks! I hope you have a great week!

Hey y’all! I hope you had a fantastic weekend! We had serious quality family time, and it was wonderful! My son had his last soccer practice Saturday, which was adorable! They finally played a scrimmage against the other three and four year old team, and to say it was entertaining would be an understatement. My cheeks still hurt from smiling and laughing so much! Then last night, I saw Beauty and the Beast with a friend of mine! It was Disney perfection. Total magic…no lie. It was my favorite Disney movie growing up, so I knew going in that I’d love it! It far exceeded my expectations and Emma Watson was THE perfect Belle (girl crush!) I’ve been talking about it non-stop on social media, because I seriously can’t control my excitement. I’m going to attempt to scale back to finish this post though, so here we go. I’ve actually been trying to get this post up for a few weeks, but I’ve been writing and sharing other posts, (slack!) After two weeks of neglect, I FINALLY want to dish some of my March Beauty faves. Some of these are old school must-haves from my makeup bag, and some are new additions. Regardless of when they joined the pack, these are my favorite beauty baes in rotation at the moment!

1. iT Cosmetics Sunshine in a Compact: This has been my jam for about 100 years now. Or maybe just 3, but this bronzer is my absolute favorite. The shade I use is Warmth (it’s the universal color) and it gives such a perfect sun-kissed color. It’s a talc-free matte formula that treats your skin with anti-aging peptides, collagen, and antioxidants. I use it on my cheeks, forehead, and around my jawline…sometimes even down my neck to blend. Some bronzers can seem cakey and heavy…not this one. It is lightweight and so silky smooth.

2. iT Cosmetics Brow Power: So, I was a 90s kid… therefore I overplucked my eyebrows. The two went hand-in-hand. If I had only known then that they would NEVER grow back properly, I would have banished my tweezers forever. BUT, that wasn’t the case, and now I’m stuck filling them in every single day. I discovered this Brow Power in an ipsy bag a while back and since then, I haven’t used or even LOOKED for any other brow pencil. The color is called “universal” and it is the best. Everyone is always so surprised when I tell them I have to fill my brows! I attempt to make them appear as natural as possible, given their sad circumstance.

3. Too Faced- Better Than Sex Mascara: I also discovered this mascara in an ipsy bag a while back and it quickly became one of my all time favorite mascaras. The formula is collagen-fueled and leaves my lashes plump and well, va-va-voom. I have always been a sucker for a good mascara, and I have tried hundreds. This one ranks up in the top 3 for sure. The shape of the brush grips my lashes and leaves them full bodied and lengthened. I highly recommend! So along with this one…I also use L’Oreal Voluminous Superstar Mascara. I’m obsessed with this primer. This mascara is double sided, so one side is primer, and the other mascara. I like to use this mascara to separate any clumpy lashes. It’s also great for applying on the top side of your lashes, since the brush head is more streamlined than the Too Faced one I also use. When these forces combine, it’s pure mascara magic! *TIP: It suggests to apply the mascara while the primer is still wet, but I don’t really follow that. I usually let it dry for a hot second, because I feel the mascara adheres to the lashes better and builds more body. Both are listed below.

4. Laura Geller Blush-n-Brighten in Apricot Berry: This is a new addition to my routine. So, for my face, I use my foundation, iT cosmetics bronzer, Marc Jacobs Beauty Blush, AND THEN this product on my cheekbones, down the ramp of my nose, and around the frame of my face. This is basically the cherry on top of my face makeup routine. It adds both a really pretty berry color and a highlighting sheen. It has an incredibly silky consistency, is paraben free, and also contains anti-oxident ingredients. I love all of her products, I’ve never had any issues with quality or satisfaction. You could use this as a blush alone, or as a final touch like I do!

5.NARS Audacious Lipstick- ANNA: I raved about this lipstick a while back in a blog post that I wrote about a few of my favorite things. Well, it’s still at the top of my list one year later. This color is absolutely gorgeous. It’s one of my favorites to wear on a daily basis, and is always in my purse. It’s gives your lips just the right amount of rosy color.  The formula is so smooth and creamy, it’s like velvet on your lips. AND it’s available in 35 colors! It is a bit more than what I would normally spend on lipstick, but I guarantee that it’s worth it!

6. NYX Cream Highlight & Contour Palette: This is a new addition to my routine, and I have to admit…I’m still trying to master the art of contouring. The first time I tried it, tbh, I looked like I rolled around in mud…so so bad. I wanted to try a contour palette, but didn’t want to break the bank. I searched online for highly rated palettes, but then I stumbled across this one at Target and really like this brand. I gave it a shot, and although I’m still mastering the skill…the palette itself was surprisingly high quality considering the price (only $15!) I really like the 3 shades and they compliment each other so beautifully. There’s a really pretty shimmer to the highlighter, and the cream formula is lightweight. It’s a great long lasting formula, too! I think this is a great starter palette if you’re looking to expand to the world of contouring! That same day, I purchased this e.l.f Contouring Brush (which is a steal for only $6!) Like I mentioned, I’m still mastering the actual application process, BUT this brush is awesome! The shape of the bristles helps you control and blend. I need to watch about a hundred more YouTube contouring videos, but I’m determined to get this, y’all! Stay tuned! Shop both below.

7. Heavenly Skin Bye Bye Pores Powder Brush: This may seem like a TON to spend on a brush. It’s $58. I totally get it. BUT, it’s a skincare infused brush. (Ummm…what does that mean?) So, the patent-pending hair bristles are infused with anti-aging collagen, silk, peptides, niacin, and antioxidents. The makes application seem as flawless as the fairy godmother’s magic wand. Not kidding. It’s my favorite brush ever. I use it for bronzer, although it can be used for loose or pressed powders. This brush was developed by plastic surgeons and dermatologists, so it’s the real deal y’all! The experts have spoken! It also has some weight to it, so it’s really easy to control for perfect, flawless application every time. It’s like the Rolls-Royce of brushes.

8. iT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush #7: Last but not least, my other favorite brush on the planet. I love that it’s dual sided, because I feel like I’m getting more bang for my buck. It’s another rather pricey one, but well worth it for the airbrush application effect. The details suggest to use it for foundation and concealer…I use the larger side for my blush (like the Laura Geller baked blush I mentioned above), and the smaller side for the base color for my eyeshadow. This brush is so versatile though, that I’m sure you could use it with a ton of different products, and it would give you amazing results no matter what. I also love that the brush is 100% cruelty free and has vegan bristles.

I hope you enjoyed my rundown of my current makeup faves! This week I’m bringing you a fashion post on some items in my shopping cart. Or more accurately, in transit in a box at the UPS processing center…haha! I hope you have a great week!
