Charleston Spotlight: Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park

Hey everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely Monday! How was your weekend? We had a jam packed one filled with friends, beachin it at IOP, Sunday brunch at Five Loaves Café- SO GOOD…($10 Mimosa carafe, yes please!), and the SC Aquarium- one of Lawson’s favorite places! I feel like I’ve been slightly off the grid lately, but my hubby just started his new job today and there’s so much going on behind the scenes to prep for our big move!
So, I wanted to share more info about a look from last week that will most definitely be on repeat this fall and also include my Charleston Spotlight for August (gonna squeeze a few more of these features in while we still live here!)

Last week, we had a family chill hang-out sesh at Mount Pleasant Waterfront Memorial Park. It’s one of our favorite parks for many different reasons, but the biggest reason being that it’s where we got engaged! Definitely brings back some special memories of a night that I cried my face off in complete shock and joy asking repeatedly, “OMG is this really happening!?!?” I wish selfies had really been a thing then, although maybe not because I would have been a hot mess in those pictures!

The park is nestled right under the base of the Ravenel Bridge and it’s one of my favorite places to capture shots of the bridge. I’ve grown to love photography in the ten years I’ve lived here, and although I’m a complete amateur, I absolutely love photographing all the beautiful nature scapes and city landmarks. I have several framed bridge pics around my home from this location…I’m telling ya, this view = winning! It also has a scenic view of the Yorktown and Charleston Harbor, a 1250ft pier that extends and runs underneath the bridge (perfect for fishing and there’s also a pier café with ice cream- jackpot!), it’s great for exercise (speaking of ice cream…ha!), and just relaxing in the bench swings that line the pier at sunset. There’s also the cutest playground with a teeny tiny adorable version of the Ravenel Bridge and a huge grass lawn perfect for picnics or games. They hold festivals there throughout the year, outdoor concerts and movies, and it even has a rental space/clubhouse perfect for weddings and events. Memorial Park is such a lovely place to check out if you’re visiting Charleston on the Mount Pleasant side, and it’s a hop and a skip from Patriot’s Point and Shem Creek (two other must-see places in Mount Pleasant to explore and tour!)

I also wanted to give more deets about this Lush Strappy Long Sleeve top from Nordstrom. It comes in three colors (black, cabernet red, and peacock blue) and is under $50. I love the cross detail at the neckline and the flowy style. Perfect to pair with shorts now, or skinnies with booties as colder weather approaches. It’s an effortless staple in your year-round wardrobe rotation, but will anchor your look to compliment some of the bold trends and luxe fabrics for the upcoming Fall and Winter seasons. I’ve styled it here with H&M denim shorts($9.99!) and my favorite Soludos espadrilles.  I added a soft pop of light pink with my crossbody bag.
I hope you have a great week and I’ll be back later this week with my August Wish List and some exciting product reviews from BeautyCounter! Until next time✌️| Stay styled, sugarplum!💋
